The Dubai Statistics Center - Innovation in Business Process Management

Abstract

The Dubai Government Excellence Program (DGEP), part of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of Dubai, launched in late 2015 an initiative with the title “Dubai We Learn”. In collaboration with the Center of Organizational Excellence Research in New Zealand, (COER), the initiative strived to foster a culture of institutional learning and knowledge exchange within the governmental sector in Dubai, and consisted of a range of benchmarking activities. Thirteen projects from 13 different government departments took part in this award winning initiative. The Dubai Statistics Center won the award for their project, ‘Innovative Statistics’ – along with all the other 13 participating projects – using the TRADE Best Practices Benchmarking methodology. The DSC excellence project-rationale was to identify the best practices in innovation management to enable it to develop and implement a strategy for innovation to improve its business- processes and services. Consequently, the Center celebrated a 7-star prize of innovation and excellence in 2016, granted by the DGEP, for its innovative best-practices contributions in the sector.

أطلق برنامج دبي للأداء الحكومي المتميز (DGEP)، التابع للأمانة العامة للمجلس التنفيذي لإمارة دبي، في أواخر عام 2015 مبادرة بعنوان "دبي نتعلم". بالتعاون مع مركز أبحاث التميز المؤسسي في نيوزيلندا (COER)، سعت المبادرة إلى تعزيز ثقافة التعلم المؤسسي وتبادل المعرفة داخل القطاع الحكومي في دبي، وتألفت من مجموعة من أنشطة المقارنة المعيارية. شارك ثلاثة عشر مشروعًا من 13 دائرة حكومية مختلفة في هذه المبادرة الحائزة على الجوائز. فاز مركز دبي للإحصاء بالجائزة عن مشروعه "الإحصاءات المبتكرة" - إلى جانب جميع المشاريع المشاركة الـ 13 الأخرى - باستخدام منهجية المقارنة المعيارية لأفضل الممارسات TRADE. كان الأساس المنطقي لمشروع التميز في مركز دبي للإحصاء هو تحديد أفضل الممارسات في إدارة الابتكار لتمكينه من تطوير وتنفيذ استراتيجية للابتكار لتحسين عملياته التجارية وخدماته. ونتيجة لذلك، احتفل المركز بجائزة 7 نجوم للابتكار والتميز في عام 2016، التي منحها برنامج دبي للأداء الحكومي المتميز، لمساهماته في أفضل الممارسات المبتكرة في هذا القطاع.
